What is the Silent Directed Ignatian Retreat for Men or Women?

Ignatian Retreats, based on the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola, are also known as directed retreats. The heart of the Ignatian Retreat involves spending four or five prayer periods each day in meditation on scripture. Thus the real director of an Ignatian Retreat is the Holy Spirit.

The retreat is marked by a complete silence, as there are no common prayers or devotions outside of Mass and Exposition, and no social time as even the meals are taken in silence to continue the reflection and prayerful atmosphere. Retreatants journal about each of their prayer times and the movements that occurred there, so that when they meet with the director, they can be given guidance and appropriate scripture passages for their meditation. It is suggested to read Meditation and Contemplation by Father Timothy Gallagher, OMV to learn more on the Ignatian methods of meditating on Scripture.

The Silent Directed Ignatian Retreat will begin with a 7 PM meeting and then Holy Hour on opening night, check-in from 6-7 PM. You will sign-up for daily individual meetings with your retreat director.  The retreat ends with a shared lunch on the final day of the retreat.

You were made for Heaven. You were made for Jesus. You were made to walk in the garden of your heart with Him.

All young adult women, open to all vocations, are invited to encounter the masculine Heart of Jesus Christ, The Bridegroom, and the restoration He has in store for your feminine identity.

During the course of the weekend, women will be invited into the journey of their hearts. Pulling from the wisdom of St. Pope John Paul II’s Theology of the Body, the poetic love story of the Song of Songs, and personal testimony; women will come to encounter the beauty within themselves and the truth of who they are and Whose they are, Jesus Christ’s.

Check-in at 6:00pm, with retreat starting at 7:00pm on Friday, April 4 and concludes on Sunday at 2:00pm. Bring your beautiful Sunday best for women’s brunch as we top off the retreat celebrating the Wedding Feast of the Lamb!

REGISTRATION OPENS IN WINTER 2024
